“The Call” Series

TheCallJoin us for a three part series on Calling and Vocation informed by a book by Os Guinness called, The Call: Finding and fulfilling the Central Purpose of Your Life. There is so much confusion around the idea of Calling as it is commonly (mis)understood today. The series seeks to bring clarity and in the process give you insight to the values and mentality that shape the Cascade Committee’s approach toward loving our city to life.

This series is offered on a rolling basis. It is best to progress sequentially as each lesson builds upon the previous. You may however attend as your interest and schedule allow.

Location: Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church

Dates: The Series begins again in May from 7p-9p on:

  • The Call #1 – Thurs, May 9th
  • The Call #2 – Thurs, May 16th
  • The Call #3 – Thurs, May 23rd
These dates won’t work? Don’t worry. We run these classes every other month or so.

RSVP: Please let us know you are coming with a quick email.
The first of a series to give an overview of Cascade. We are using a book called, The Call, by author Os Guinness to shape our understanding of what (actually “who”) ultimately gives meaning to our lives; what God calls us to; the centrality of discipleship to finding and fulfilling our purpose in life. Shoot us an email to inquire about the next session, or to request a presentation at your small group.
This session addresses the huge difference between being “constrained to be” versus being “called to be.” We will identify the distortions of calling and it’s impact on faith today.
We will also explore how we may ensure that our gifts and callings are used for the sake of others. We’ll explore how calling challenges us to rise to our full stature as human beings. We will explore three interconnected elements to discern calling.
